We just wrapped up a large and a difficult (a difficult neighbour, extremely tight space) project with CCS. Without CCS, I cannot imagine how we could have completed it. We reached out to a couple of contractors with good reviews on Houzz. Angelo was the first to come on site and after the site visit, Giovanna provided a contract with clear breakdown of the activities and cost. They were also the most cost effective.
We decided to start on May 2nd, 2022, and CCS was on site at 8AM on May 2nd. Nick was assigned as the project supervisor, and I can never thank him enough. He kept everyone in the neighbourhood informed of the project status and did his best to minimize their inconvenience. The contract also had clearly laid out milestones in the contract and CCS sent us an invoice only AFTER the milestone was achieved.
I have limited knowledge with renovation, but that did not stop me from being very involved and fussy about little things – the floor, doors, doorknobs, sink etc. And Giovanna was very patient with me, hearing the requirements, advising me and making changes to accommodate my needs. I will wrap up with 2 more examples which made me appreciate CCS more. There are many more such examples.
1. Antonio and Nick had to dig for the basement – 21 feet in length. The distance between the fence and one of the sides (21 feet long) of the hole was about 1 foot. We realized that it was best to avoid removing the fence due to neighbor tantrums. CCS dug up the hole, poured concrete for the footing and foundation walls without ever removing the fence!
2. When the walls were opened in the existing structure, Nick, Tom, and everyone at CCS went above and beyond to ensure the things that you don’t see or notice – ceiling studs which are not properly levelled, wiring etc. were corrected before drywalling them.
